A pop up, interactive travelogue, to celebrate Salem Women’s History Day. Sunday, March 24th. The Old Town Hall, 32 Derby Square, Salem. 5-6PM. Meet Sarah Parker Remond and hear her speech in Manchester, England about American Slavery. Meet Mary Peabody Mann and learn about her observations of slavery in Cuba. Get diagnosed by abolitionist, and world famous patent medicine woman, Lydia Pinkham. Sing political action songs with Charlotte Forten. Learn about History Alive’s new project, This is Not a Bill, written by Alexia Rowe, about Salem’s Underground Railroad. Art making, portrait drawing, flower pressing, and more.
